MEGHA CORRUPTION OF THE DECADE !
on Oct 27, 2009 08:54 AM

Central Vigilance Commissioner has found corruption and serious irregularities in the allocation of Spectrum by the DOT.The minister in charge belonged to a party known for corruption.Though many times people raised this issue no one took it seriously. Now once again all voice their opinion and demand for justice as CBI has, for some unknown reasons, commenced investigation of this megha scam by raiding the DOT office. There cannot be smoke without fire. Some may fool some for some time. All can not fool all at all times. An honest citizen wishes that the CBI probe, though much belated, should be carried out without any political interference to its logical conclusion.P.M. ,who is considered so far as honest and upright should ensure a through enquiry not only to fix responsibility on those involved in this scam and also to find out who were behind this scam and also those who shared the loot.If P.M. really cares for a corruption-free Govt., he should cease this opportunity to get the guilty punished quickly to instil a fear in the minds of others who are likely to indulge in such malpactices.
It is generally believed that many politicians are involved in this scam and for them money is not at all a problem. We wish justice should prevail over money.   |   Report abuse

The MEGA corruption.
on Oct 24, 2009 03:18 AM

CVC has found prima facie corruption and irregularity in allocation of spectrum and mobile and CBI has started to investigate the charge. The amount of revenue loss is in the order of Rs.25 to 40 crore.Even before last parliamentry election these charges against the minister and the dept. surfaced but it was swept under the carpet due to political pressure and by vested interest.I think such a great scam cannot be set aside so easily and now it is taken up for investigation.Again as in the past political pressure and money power will come to play to close the investigation and I would not be surprised that CBI will come out with a report to close the case as it has done in Bofors case.In our country there is no accountability and all politicians are corrupt and hence no headway in such corruption cases is possible. Everything is being compromised. If the minister is not corrupt he should resign and fight the case to prove his innocence in a democratic way.But he now says that everything was done with the PM's approval and hence there is no reason for his resignation. With the minister in position,no meaningful investigation is possible. I suspect all indiscriminating evidences would have already been destroyed.PM if he wants to root out corruption in his administration should take up this case in all seriousness and pursue it to finality without bending under pressure from any quarters. Will he rise to this occasion and declare to the public that he is not a mere rubber stamp ?   |   Report abuse

Bail out to AIR INDIA
on Jul 29, 2009 07:24 AM

I know that all government bookings in Indian Airlines and Air India for Officials, Ministers ,MPs,MLAs and public sector officials are done on credit basis and no down payment is made. Most of such dues are not made to the Air India or Indian Airlines by the officials and arrears keep on increasing There is slackness both at Govt. level and at Air India offices to clear the dues Naturally these are the root cause for the financial difficulties
Further Minister's and MPs' salaries are ever increasing there is no need to give them free travel in the airlines They should pay for their unofficial journeys and official journeys are to be restricted to the minimum to save public expenditure on these netas
A special audit should be conducted to trace the recurring financial irregularities in the Air India so as to put an end to them and also punish the officials concerned for such irregularities.   |   Report abuse

Re: For What?

The point is the minister if he really interfered in the affair, he SHOULD be punished.Because another member of the same party, who is also no better than the out going minister,is not relevant to let go the culprit. In fact many of the ministers not only at the center but also in various States are Goondas,Mafias and fully corrupt. It is a tragedy of our democracy. There is a lot of compromise, corruption rules the roost There is no point in blaming this party or other, all are corrupt.Their leaders depend on these undesirable politicians to stay in power and to win election.
In the case of politicians who are alleged to have committed an offence,an immediate inquiry should be initiated, the case tried expeditiously in Fast-track courts and punished with a view to avoid recurrence of similar offence. There should be fear in their minds which perhaps deter them to commit offences. The sooner this done the better.
The PM should look into it urgently.   |   Report abuse
