You could be right to some extent as far as individual level iitiatives and drive are concernd.But social and state functioning to crreate overall conducive atmosphere for individual's performance can't be underrmined.The agriculture sector in India could not get the requisite state support and ploughing in of talent.The production process remained in the hands of resource starved poor peasantry of India.tHE CEILING LAWS AND UNCHECKED FRAGGMENTATION OF HOLDINGS NEVER ALLOWED THIS SECTOR TO BECOME REALLY ECONOMIC PROPOSITION.Consequently productivity per unit of land, labour, capital and technological inputs is one of the lowest in the world.Unless the sector is reorganised as industrial sectors, we can't make our agri really competitive in the world and affect food security for our people.Only part or total corporatorisation of agri can stop us heading towards 'begging bowl' situation of pre-green revolution era.   |   Report abuse

My forefathers came from MARATHAS with the marathi armies during Peshwa wars.As per tradition, the defeated soldiers never returned back to their homes and face social humiliation, ridicule and boycott.THEY GOT SETTLED IN THE KHADIRS of doab region around Kanpur.We still feel proud of their patriotism who gave up their all fighting the Company for the sake of motherland.THE SENA METALITY OF A FEW DEGADES THE SACRIFICESAND SENSE OF PATRIOTISM OF BRAVE MARATHAS WHO HAVE ALWAYS KEPT THE MOTHERLAND ABOVE EVERYTHING.   |   Report abuse
